On April 21st residents of Don Valley East and our elected Trustee met up to discuss their concerns regarding this crisis and the impact its having on the most vulnerable; key topics discussed as follows:
The group continued to discuss the sending out of a general flyer mail-out & grocery store posting with the follow general information
The Don Valley East elected officials meeting (Trustee, Councilor, MP, MPP) were asked about putting out a general flyer mail-out / grocery stores posting to inform residents; they all agreed with the idea however several roadblocks were communicated such as:
– a combined message and funding scheme does not work, messages need to be branded for a particular party
– availability of printing services during the shutdown
The group discussed the importance of grocery store access for the most vulnerable, as this crisis continues we need to standardize consistent safe practises – at grocery stores – across Don Valley East. The group discussed reaching out to the stores in our area to work out a safe plan that works for the community. We are going to work on getting those owners/managers together for feedback and to make sure we are doing our best for the most vulnerable.
